Roast Half Turkey Recipe
This Roast Half Turkey recipe gives a uniquely different way to enjoy an excellent meal. An extraordinary way to showcase your favorite dish!
Ingredients
| 6- to 7-pound turkey half | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | 1 | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), melted | |
| 1/3 cup turkey or chicken broth | ||
| 6 cups your favorite dressing | ||
Directions
Rinse turkey in cold water; pat dry.
Rub all over with salt and pepper.
Skewer or stitch skin to cut edges to prevent shrinking from heat during roasting.
Secure leg to tail; fold wing to back.
Place skin side down on a rack in a shallow pan.
Brush with butter.
Roast in a slow oven 325 °F.
about 3 1/2 hours or until tender and meat in thickest part is soft; turn when two-thirds done.
Baste every 30 minutes with a mixture of butter and broth.
Meanwhile, prepare dressing; place in a casserole and bake with turkey for1 1/4 hours; cover if moist dressing is desired.
Stuffing may be arranged on a sheet of aluminum foil in the roasting pan with turkey atop it, skin side up.
