Ingredients

 
85 grams (3 oz.) margarine or butter
 
85 grams (3 oz.) brown sugar
 
115 grams (4oz.) rolled quick-cooking oats
 
a pinch salt

Directions

1. Cream the margarine, sugar and salt.
2. Add the oats and mix well.
3. Grease a shallow 175 mm. (7") square tin.
4. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared tin.
5. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F. for 15 to 20 minutes.
6. Cool slightly in the tin.
7. Mark into 12 fingers with a sharp knife.
8. Loosen round the edges. When firm, break into pieces.
