Ingredients

 Eggs4 standard
 45 ml. / 3 tablespoons sugar
 600 ml. / 1 pint milk
 2.5 ml. / 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg

Directions

Put the eggs, sugar and milk into a large ovenproof dish and mix well.
Sprinkle over the nutmeg.
Put into a deep baking tin, half-filled with cold water.
Put the tin into the oven preheated to warm (170°C/325°F or Gas Mark 3) and bake for 45 minutes, or until set.
