Rice Ring Recipe
Of all the courses Main Dish happens to be my favorite and Rice Ring the recipe that represents it. It is an effortless Main Dish. Never ever miss out on this great Rice Ring recipe.
Ingredients
1 cup wild rice or brown rice
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 clove garlic, minced
4 cups boiling water
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon thyme
Pinch marjoram
Pinch nutmeg
1 cup onions minced
1 cup pine nuts
Directions
Combine rice, sea salt, garlic, and boiling water in a double boiler; steam until tender, about 45 minutes.
Stir frequently.
Melt butter; add seasonings, minced onions, and pine nuts.
Cook over low heat 3 or 4 minutes.
Put in buttered, 8 inch ring mold.
Stir in rice mixture.
Set mold in a pan of hot water and bake 20 minutes at 350 Degree.
To serve, loosen edges with a knife; invert on serving dish and fill with Creamed Mushrooms.
