Rice Pilaf Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Ounce | |
| Long grain rice | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| 2 1/2-3 cups beef stock or water and 2 beef stock cubes | ||
| Ham | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Almonds | 2 Tablespoon, toasted | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Heat butter in heavy based frying pan, add rice and garlic.
Stir until rice begins to colour.
Remove from heat and add stock.
Cover pan and cook over medium coals for approximately 30 minutes or until rice is tender.
Add additional stock if rice appears to be dry.
The liquid should be absorbed by the time the rice is tender.
Remove pan from heat and add ham and almonds.
Stir lightly with a fork, season to taste with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
Ideal accompaniment for kebabs.
