Rice Pilaf Recipe
The flavor of this Rice Pilaf recipe has occupied my mind so much that I almost never consider any other Rice Pilaf recipe. The main ingredient in Rice Pilaf is always Rice. Just try this Rice Pilaf recipe, and you will never want to go for another recipe again.
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
11/2 cups uncooked regular rice
1/4 cup snipped parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
1/3 bay leaf
1/8 teaspoon thyme
1 can (10 1/2-ounces) condensed chicken broth
1 1/3 cups water
Directions
Combine butter, onion and celery in 2-quart casserole.
Microwave 3 to 4 minutes on HIGH, or until onion is transparent.
Add rice, parsley, salt, pepper, bay leaf, thyme, broth and water.
Cover.
Microwave 5 to 6 minutes on HIGH, or until mixture begins to boil.
Reduce setting.
Microwave 16 to 18 minutes on '5', or until rice is tender.
Let stand 3 to 5 minutes, covered.
Remove bay leaf before serving.
