Rice and Cheese with Sunflower Seeds Recipe
Ingredients
| Milk | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown rice | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1/4 tsp. crushed white peppercorns (optional) | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| American Cheese | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
| Sunflower seeds | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Powdered milk | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
MAKING
1) In a heat resistant casserole, add 1 1/2 c milk and simmer.
2) Into the still simmering milk, gently add rice, oil and peppercorns; simmer covered for about 45 min , until the rice is tender.
3) Add half of the cheese and sunflower seeds, 1/2c milk blended with the powdered milk, soy sauce.
4) Turn off the heat, sprinkle the balance sunflower seeds and grated cheese ; keep the casserole covered until the cheese melts.
SERVING
5) Serve immediately.
