Butter Rice Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup converted long grain rice
2 cups hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter or margarine (optional)
Directions
In a deep, 1 1/2-quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole, combine all ingredients.
Heat, tightly covered, on simmer for 20 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed.
Allow rice to stand, at room temperature, an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
