Directions

Wash raisins and cut in small pieces with scissors.
Cream sifted sugar and shortening, add eggs and raisins and beat well.
Sift flour, salt, baking powder, nutmeg and soda together.
Add to creamed mixture and mix thoroughy.
Chill in refrigerator until stiff enough to handle.
Form into rolls 2 inches in diameter, wrap in waxed paper and store in refrigerator.
Slice 14 inch thick, place on greased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes at 400°F Makes about 60 cookies.
