1 1/2 cups dried kidney beans
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup raw rice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sake or sherry
Directions
Wash the beans.
Cover with water and bring to a boil.
Remove from the heat and let stand 1 hour.
Drain.
Add fresh water to cover and 1 teaspoon salt.
Bring to a boil.
Cover and cook over low heat 1 hour or until tender.
Wash the rice in several changes of water.
Add 1 cup water and remaining salt.
Cover, bring to a boil and cook over low heat 20 minutes, or until tender.
Drain.
Combine with the,beans, soy sauce, and sake.
Mix lightly.
