Ingredients
| 4 cups Zinfandel or other dry red wine | ||
| Water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon peel | 2 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Cinnamon stick | 1 1 1/2 Inch | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Ripe melon or pear slices, sprinkled with lemon juice (garnish) | ||
Directions
Combine wine, water, sugar, lemon peel and cinnamon in large saucepan.
Bring to boil, stirring often, until sugar dissolves.
Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 5 minutes, uncovered.
Cool mixture to room temperature.
Stir in lemon juice.
Pour mixture into 2 shallow metal pans and freeze overnight.
