Red Cabbage With Wild Apples Recipe
Ingredients
| Red cabbage | 2 Pound, shredded | |
| 3 Tbsp. bacon drippings | ||
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1 Dash | |
| Dry red wine | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 cups wild green apples, cored and diced | ||
| Brown sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Wine vinegar | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Saute cabbage and onion in bacon drippings.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add red wine.
Simmer 10 minutes.
Add apples, brown sugar and wine vinegar.
Cover and simmer 10 more minutes.
