Red Cabbage With Apple Recipe
Ingredients
| Bacon strips | 3 , diced | |
| Onion | 1 Medium, chopped | |
| Apple | 1 Medium, chopped | |
| 1 small head red cabbage, chopped | ||
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| White wine vinegar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
In a Dutch oven, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon to paper towels to drain.
In the drippings, saute onion and apple until tender.
Stir in the remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until tender.
Stir in reserved bacon.
