Red Cabbage And Chestnuts Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 medium-size red cabbage, shredded medium fine | ||
| 3/4 cup beef bouillon | ||
| Cider vinegar | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 18-20 chestnuts, boiled, peeled, and coarsely chopped | ||
| 2 tablespoons bacon drippings | ||
Directions
MAKING
1. In a stock pot or a large saucepan, combine cabbage, bouillon, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
2. Cover the pot with its lid and place on a medium low flame.
3. Steam cabbage for 20-25 minutes until it is almost tender.
4. Tip in the chestnuts and bacon drippings and cook, uncovered for 5-7 minutes till liquid is reduced and the cabbage is tender.
SERVING
5. Dish out and serve hot.
