Red Cabbage and Chestnuts Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 cups shredded raw red cabbage | ||
| Boiling water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vinegar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 1 pound chestnuts, boiled, peeled, skinned and chopped | ||
| 1/2 cup seedless golden raisins | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1 cup Chicken Bouillon or use cube or canned bouillon | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Tablespoon | |
Directions
1. Cook the cabbage 3 minutes in boiling water. Drain. Sprinkle with vinegar.
2. Mix cabbage, cooked chopped chestnuts, raisins and salt.
3. Heat the bouillon, melt the butter or margarine in it and pour over the cabbage mixture. Cover and simmer 15 minutes, remove the lid and simmer 5 minutes longer.
