Red Cabbage Recipe
Ingredients
1 small cabbage shredded
4 tart apples sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup boiling water
Pepper and salt to taste
1 small onion thinly sliced
2 whole cloves
2 tablespoons sugar
Directions
Melt butter in saucepan and add red cabbage, apples and onion; cook 1 minute; add boiling water, salt, pepper, sugar and cloves.
Cover and cook gently until cabbage is tender.
Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon flour; toss over and heat until blended; add more sugar or a little vinegar to sour or sweeten to taste.
