Red Cabbage Recipe

Thanks to my neighbor for sharing this excellent Red Cabbage recipe. Red Cabbage served as Side Dish is the best food to pep me up. The marriage of the irresistible flavors of Vegetable with other ingredients is the secret to this Red Cabbage. Do let me know how you've liked my Red Cabbage. Ingredients

 
1 oz. fat
 
2 Tbs. stock or water
 
1 lb. red cabbage, shredded
 
2 Tbs. vinegar
 
1 tsp. salt
 
1 large onion, sliced
 
1 large apple, sliced
 
1 Tbs. brown sugar
 
Pinch of pepper

Directions

Melt the fat in a saucepan and add all the other ingredients.
Cover with a tight fitting lid and boil gently for1/2-3/4 hour or until the cabbage is tender.
Stir occasionally, and do not cook too quickly, or the pan will, boil dry.
There should be hardly any liquid left at the end of cooking.
This is very good served with pork or sausages.
