Real Plum Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
| Currants | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Raisins | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Figs | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Dates | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup each citron and orange pee | ||
| Suet | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 loaf day old bread, plucked fine by hand | ||
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Nutmeg | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Cloves | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs), scalded | |
| Brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed | |
| Eggs | 4 standard | |
| Red wine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Brandy | 2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Cut up fruits; add crumbled bread, salt, spices, scalded milk and sugar.
Beat eggs until light and add fruits, suet, wine, brandy, etc.
Steam in pudding dishes, water 2/3 up on puddings for 5 hours.
Reheat in same manner 1 hour only Christmas day.
