Rasam Pecan Pie Recipe Video

This pie is a family favorite for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It goes very well with the traditional meals and just adds a special touch. This pie will be a sure hit with everyone and they will all want the recipe that's for sure....

Ingredients

 
Crust:
 
2 cups raw walnuts
 
3 cups medjool dates (pitted)
 
1 cup organic coconut flakes
 
Filling:
 
2/3 cup filtered water
 
1 cup raw pecans, (soaked about 15 minutes)
 
1 cup organic Thompson raisins
 
1 Tbsp organic vanilla extract
 
1 tsp nutmeg
 
1/3 cup pure maple syrup (optional)
 
1 tsp sea salt

Directions

Directions for crust;

1.Pit the dates. Add the dates, coconut flakes and walnuts to a food processor and mix on high until combined.

2.Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of a pie plate. Set aside.

Directions for filling;

1.Using a blender or food processor, combine all filling ingredients together until smooth.

2.Pour into crust and garnish with fresh, raw pecans.

3.Set in freezer overnight, or for at least 5 hours in refrigerator before serving.
