Ingredients

 
1 medium raw mango
 
1 cup fresh grated coconut
 
4 green chillies
 
1 tbsp oil
 
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
 
A pinch asafoetida
 
Salt to taste

Directions

1. peel and chop the mango. Grind it to a smooth paste along with coconut, green chilli and salt.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they crackle, add asafoetida and pour it over the ground chutney.
3. Serve as a side dish with rice or can also be served with dosa or idly.

I love mango chutney and this looks delicious! Wonder if store bought frozen shredded coconut could be used instead of fresh?I am always looking for easily available ingredients that can be used that still retains the authentic taste of the dish!
