Raspberry Preserves Recipe

Ingredients
6 cups freshly picked raspberries
4 cups sugar, firmly packed
Directions
1 Do not wash the fruit. Place the raspberries in a 2.25-2.75 litre/4-5 pint (10-12 cup) mixing bowl, and crush them with the back of a wooden spoon.
2 Add the sugar. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave in a cool place overnight.
3 Pierce the pastic wrap. Microwave on full power for 5 minutes and stir.
4 Microwave on power 7 for 24 minutes, stirring twice during cooking.
5 To test for setting: Put a little jam onto a cold saucer. Allow to cool for a minute or two and then push the jam with your finger. If the jam is ready, it will crinkle slightly.
6 Pot in sterilized jars, seal and cover.
