Raked Pears Elegante Recipe
Ingredients
2 medium fresh Bartlett pears
1/2 cup port wine
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 inches stick cinnamon
3 whole cloves
Dash salt
3 thin lemon slices
Directions
Pare, halve, and core pears; place in 1 quart baking dish.
In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients; add a few drops red food coloring if desired.
Bring to boiling; pour over pears.
Bake, covered, at 350° for 20 minutes.
Uncover and bake 10 minutes or till tender, basting once or twice.
Serve hot, or chill and top with whipped cream.
