Rajma Chawal Recipe Video
This is a preparation of kidney beans in Indian style. You can use canned kidney beans instead of presoaking them.

Kidney beans
1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
2 1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp red chili powder
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 1/2 onions, chopped
garlic, chopped
grated ginger
green chili, chopped
Directions
Pour oil in the pan and pop up a cinnamon stick, bay leaf and cumin seeds. Saute the onions for 2-3 mins until they are translucent. Add the garlic, ginger and green chili mix. Fry for couple of minutes and next add the tomatoes. Cook the tomatoes for some time till the oil gets separated. Add the seasonings like red chili powder, turmeric and coriander powder and mix well. Season with salt. Cook for another 5 mins to blend the all the spices. Add the drained kidney beans to this. Mix well and add a cup of water to the pan. Stir well and cover. Cook this for 20-30mins on low heat.
Serve rajma with jeera rice or plain basmati rice.
