1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour milk
1/2 cup light molasses
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup raisins
Directions
Advance preparation: Cream vegetable shortening and sugar.
Beat in eggs, milk, and molasses.
Combine flour, soda, salt, and spices; stir into molasses mixture.
Fold in raisins.
Store in casserole with tight fitting lid.
Batter may be refrigerated, covered, up to 10 days.
