Raisin Oat Squares Recipe

Ingredients
| Shortening | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed | |
| Molasses | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Soda | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats | ||
| Seedless raisins | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Melt shortening in a medium-sized saucepan.
Remove from heat and stir in sugar and molasses.
Add egg and beat thor- oughly.
Sift together flour, salt and soda.
Add flour mixture, oats and raisins to molasses mixture and mix well.
Turn into a greased, 8-inch-square pan.
Bake in a moderate oven (350° F) about 25 minutes.
Cool and cut into squares.
