Raisin-Cabbage Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

 California seedless raisins - 3/4 cup
 Lean beef1/2 Pound
 Cooked rice1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Onion1 Tablespoon, chopped
 Seasoned salt1 Teaspoon
 Dill weed1/4 Teaspoon
 Outside cabbage leaves - 8 Iarge.
 Beef broth -1-10 1/2-oz. can
 Catsup1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Cider vinegar2 Teaspoon
 Cornstarch2 Teaspoon

Directions

MAKING
1) For the filling, in a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup raisins, beef, rice, onion, salt, dillweed, and 2 tablespoons water.
2) Add boiling water over the cabbage and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Drain.
3) Discard the thick stem at the base of the leaf.
4) Add the filling onto the center of the leaves.
5) Fold in the sides, roll and secure with wooden picks.
6) Place in a skillet with broth.
7) Place a lid over and allow to simmer for 30 to 40 minutes, till tender.
8) Remove rolls and keep warm.
9) To the pan drippings, add enough water to equal the liquid to 3/4 cup.
10) Add in the catsup.
11) Combine the vinegar, cornstarch, and the remaining raisins.
12) Add in the pan drippings.
13) Stir and cook till the liquid is clear.
14) Add over the cabbage rolls and heat for 5 minutes.

SERVING
15) Serve hot.
