Raisin Brown Bread Recipe
The raisin brown bread is a rich and flavorful recipe for baking up a nice batch of brown bread. Baked with a batter of molasses, buttermilk, wheat flour and raisins the raisin brown bread can be served with any side of choice.
Ingredients
| Whole wheat flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Molasses | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 cups sour or buttermilk | ||
| Baking soda | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Raisins | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Mix the flours and salt in a bowl.
Combine molasses, baking soda and sour milk, and add to the mixture.
After beating it until smooth, add the raisins.
Bake in a greased loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 F.
Serve with baked beans.
