Raisin Drop Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
2 cup raisins
1 cup water
4 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup shortening
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Bring raisins and water to a boil.
Boil until the raisins are plump about 3 minutes.
Cool.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and spices together.
Cream shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Stir in the raisins and any remaining water.
Gradually add the flour mixture blending thoroughly after each addition.
Stir in nuts.
Drop by tablespoonfuls about 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in 375° oven for 12-15 minutes.
