Raisin Apple Stuffing Recipe
|Seedless raisins||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Boiling water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Finely chopped onion||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Chopped celery and leaves||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Tart apples||3 Medium, peeled and chopped|
|Green pepper||1 Medium, chopped|
|Soft bread crumbs||12 Cup (192 tbs) (Use Day Old Bread)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Poultry seasoning||2 Teaspoon|

Heat butter in large heavy skillet.
Add onion and celery and cook gently 3 minutes.
Add apples and green pepper and continue cooking 1 minute more.
Add half of bread crumbs and cook, stirring constantly, until crumbs are golden.
Remove from heat.
Put remaining bread crumbs in large bowl.
Add raisins and seasonings and toss together lightly.
Add hot apple mixture and toss again lightly.
Use to stuff 12-to 15-lb.turkey.
