Raised Corn Bread Recipe
|Buttermilk||1 Cup (16 tbs), scalded|
|Dry yeast||1⁄2 Ounce (2 Packages)|
|Cornmeal||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Whole wheat flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Instant nonfat dry milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Wheat germ||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Bacon drippings||3 Tablespoon|

Add the yeast and stir until dissolved.
Sift cornmeal, whole wheat flour, salt and milk together and stir in wheat germ.
Add eggs and drippings to milk mixture and mix well.
Stir in the cornmeal mixture.
Pour into a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake in 350-degree oven for 30 minutes.
