Ingredients

 1/2 to 3/4 lb. sliced
 Canadian-style bacon, cut in strips
 1 1/2 lbs. beef round steak, cut in 3x1/4 in. strips
 Onions3 , thinly sliced
 4 potatoes, pared and sliced
 6 to 8 carrots, pared and sliced
 Mayonnaise1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Lemon juice1 Tablespoon
 Few grains cayenne pepper

Directions

Arrange bacon strips in an even layer on the bottom of a Dutch oven.
Cover with the beef strips.
Season to taste with salt, pepper, and monosodium glutamate.
Cover with a layer of onions, potatoes, and carrots, adding more seasoning after each layer.
Cover tightly and cook slowly 2 hours, or until vegetables are tender.
Meanwhile, blend the remaining ingredients in a bowl.
Cover and chill.
