Ingredients
1/3 cup bias cut celery slices
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1 package frozen peas and onions
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 cups cooked rice
1 can tuna, drained
1 can water chestnuts, thinly sliced
Directions
In skillet, cook celery in hot vegetable shortening until tender; add frozen peas and onions, and water.
Heat to boiling.
Cover and simmer until peas are tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
Combine soy and cornstarch; add to vegetables.
Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
Gently stir in remaining ingredients; heat.
