Ingredients

 
1 (15-ounce) can peach halves
 
1 (15-ounce) can pear halves
 
1 (16-Ounce) can figs, Cornstarch, Rum or brandy flavoring
 
2 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
 
8 maraschino cherries

Directions

Drain the juice from the fruit, and measure.
For each cup of juice use 2 teaspoons cornstarch for thickening.
Cut peaches and pears in half.
Pour all but 1/2 cup of the fruit juice into the top pan of a chafing dish, and heat.
Mix cornstarch with the reserved juice, and stir into the hot juice, Cook until clear.
Add flavoring and lime juice to taste.
Sweeten if necessary, and add the fruits.
Set over boiling water, and reheat thoroughly.
Serve with icy cold rich custard sauce or whipped cream.
