Quick And Easy Chili Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
Ripe tomatoes-1/2 bushel
Mixed pickling spices-1/2 cup
White vinegar-1 cup
Sugar-2 cups
Pepper- to taste
Onions-2 cups, chopped
Celery-1 cups, chopped
Green peppers-1 cup, chopped
Directions
GETTING READY
1)Scald and skin tomatoes. Chop them.
MAKING
2)Take a large heavy kettle and put tomatoes into it. Bring to boil.
3)Decrease heat and simmer until tomatoes are soft.
4)Press them through a sieve and put puree into kettle.
5)Tie pickling spices in small cloth bag and add to kettle.
6)Stir in vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, onions, celery and green peppers.
7)Boil the mixture and decrease heat. Simmer until thickened, Stir frequently.
8)Pour sauce into sterilized 1-gallon jar and leave spice bag in sauce.
9)Seal and cool. Store refrigerated.
SERVING
10)Use the tomato catsup and when needed.
