Quick Christmas Braid Recipe
|Frozen bread dough||16 Ounce (1 Loaf)|
|Butter/Margarine||2 Tablespoon, softened|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped pecans||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sifted powdered sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Red sugar||1 Tablespoon|
|Pecan halves||1 Tablespoon|

Cut in 3 strips.
Spread butter down lengthwise center of each strip.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over butter.
Top with chopped pecans.
Bring dough up around filling, sealing edges, to form three ropes.
Place on greased baking sheet; braid loosely.
Let rise till double, about 30 minutes.
Bake in 375° oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
(Cover braid with foil last few minutes if necessary to prevent over-browning.) Combine powdered sugar and enough milk to make thin glaze.
Drizzle over braid while still warm.
Sprinkle with red sugar; trim with pecan halves.
Makes 1 loaf.
