Quick Christmas Braid Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 16-ounce loaf frozen bread dough | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon, softened | |
| Packed brown sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pecans | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Powdered sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Milk | 5 Teaspoon | |
| Red sugar | ||
| Pecan halves | ||
Directions
Thaw frozen dough completely; roll to 12-inch square.
Cut in 3 strips.
Spread butter down lengthwise center of each strip.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over butter.
Top with chopped pecans.
Bring dough up around filling, sealing edges, to form three ropes.
Place on greased baking sheet; braid loosely.
Let rise till double, about 30 minutes.
Bake in 375° oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
(Cover braid with foil last few minutes if necessary to prevent over-browning.) Combine powdered sugar and enough milk to make thin glaze.
