 1/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
 2-3 tart apples, such as Granny Smith
 Brown sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1/4 teaspoon apple pie
 Spice single prepared pie crust

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Spread walnuts in a baking pan and bake for approximately 5 minutes.
Coarsely chop nuts.
Peel apples, core, and cut into eighths.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a nonstick frying pan and add apples.
Cook over medium heat until apples are slightly softened, about 10 minutes.
Stir in brown sugar and apple pie spice, cooking until liquid is syrupy and bubbly, about 5 minutes.
Add walnuts and remove from heat.
Cool slightly.
Unwrap prepared pie crust and place on a well-buttered baking sheet or line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pour cooled apple mixture onto center of pie crust.
Gently fold edges of crust over apples, pleating as you go.
Leave an opening in the center.
Bake in oven until pie crust is golden and apples are tender when pierced, about 35 minutes.
Transfer tart to a serving plate and serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
Cut into wedges.
