Queen Elizabeth II Cake Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Combine sugar and butter; cream well.
Add egg and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together, alternately with cooled date mixture.
Bake in 9x13 pan 35 minutes at 350°.
