Its my favourite also. I like it very much with hot NAN, fresh salad, & curd. Its include in my fortnightly menu.

Ingredients

 Chana dal1 Tablespoon (pulse of gram)
 Onion2 (fried)
 Garlic paste1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
 Ginger paste1 Tablespoon
 Tomato3 , chopped
 Red chilli powder1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Turmeric powder1 Teaspoon
 Salt1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Oil2 Cup (32 tbs)
 Pumpkin1⁄2 Kilogram, sliced (peeled)
 Garam masala1 Tablespoon (It made by roasted cmin seeds and roasted red chilies)
 Ghee1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Onion1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
 Cumin seeds1 Teaspoon
 Kari leaves1 Tablespoon
 Coriander leaves1 Tablespoon, chopped (For garnishing)

Directions

Soak daal for half an hour .Heat oil in a pan. and fry chopped onion till golden brown.
Add garlic and ginger paste ,salt ,red chili powder tomato and turmeric powder and peeled pumpkin . Fry them all till brown. Next add soaked daal chana and water to cook
till all ingredients become tender. Now remove in a bowl.
Sprinkle garam masala powder.
Now heat oil in a pan for baghar or tarka.
Put chopped oinion , white cumin seeds few whole red chillies and fresh kari leaves.
Onion becomes golden brown pour it the top of daal & pumpkin and serve it with hot NAN,Fresh salad,&Curd.
