Recipe Story

Pulled pork is also known as Boston Butt cooked on a low heat & for a long time till it becomes tender to be pulled into small pieces.

Ingredients

 
1 whole pork tenderloin, (about 1 pound), all fat trimmed
 
1 teaspoon chili powder
 
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
 
Vegetable cooking spray
 
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
 
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
 
1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes, undrained
 
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
 
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
 
1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder
 
1/4 teaspoon maple extract
 
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
 
1/3 cup powered sugar
 
Salt and pepper
 
6 regular toasted buns(or multi grain)

Directions

To start with apply chilly & garlic powder on the pork & place pork in a baking dish.Barbecue pork oven till it turns brown & the juices spring out of it.Once pork is done let it cool a bit for 10 mintues & then pull the pork into shred slices.Place pork in a bowl & let it stand.In a pan take spray cooking spray & let it heat over medium heat,saute onion & garlic it it becomes light brown,once that is done add tomatoes,vinegar,mustard, chili powder, maple extract and liquid smoke,cook it starts to boil.Once it starts boiling reduce heat & let it simmer(do not cover it)cook it to a point that it forms a sauce consistency,at this point stir in the powdered sugar & season it with salt & pepper,give it a good mix,add pork to it & cook it well so that flavors of the sauce mix with pork.
Take generous portions of pork & stuff them in the sandwich.
