Prune Maple Cookies Recipe
Prunes maple cookies are a healthy option into great snack. Prunes are natural laxatives and high in fibers. While, maple syrup is a good substitute for sugar in various baking recipes. A combination of prunes and maple syrup makes prune and maple cookies healthy.
Ingredients
Prunes-1 1/2 cups, cooked
Shortening-1 cup
Sugar-1 1/2 cups
Eggs-3, well beaten
Maple extract-1/2 teaspoon
All-purpose flour-3 cups, sifted
Salt-1 1/2 teaspoons
Baking powder-1 teaspoon
Quick-cooking oats-1 cup
Nuts-1 cup, chopped
Directions
GETTING READY
1)Cut prunes from pits into small pieces.
MAKING
2)In a bowl, beat shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3)Add eggs and maple extract and mix well.
4)In another bowl, sift together flour, salt and baking powder.
5)Mix it with oats and add into creamed mixture.
6)Add nuts and mix well.
7)Take a greased baking sheets and drop batter on it, about 2 inches apart.
8)Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
SERVING
9)Serve the prune maples cookies at tea time.
