Prune Cream Cheese Pastries Recipe
There is no better gift for your palate than this Prune Cream Cheese Pastries recipe. Cheese is one of the few ingredients I like to include in my daily cooking and this is my comfort recipe that I usually prepare using it. You can serve Prune Cream Cheese Pastries as a yummy Dessert. Trust me, once you taste this Prune Cream Cheese Pastries you are bound to prepare it again!
Ingredients
1 3 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped, cooked prunes
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons prune juice
Directions
Blend cream cheese with butter; mix in flour and salt.
Form dough into ball; chill 3 to 4 hours.
Meanwhile, for filling, combine prunes with remaining ingredients; mix.
Divide chilled dough in half.
Return one half to refrigerator.
On lightly floured surface, roll other half to 12x9 inch rectangle.
Cut into twelve 3 inch squares.
Place about 1 1/2 teaspoons prune filling in center of each square.
Moisten edges and fold into triangles; seal edges with fork.
Repeat with other half of dough.
Bake pastries on ungreased cooky sheet in moderate oven (375°) for about 12 minutes, or till golden.
Sift confectioners' sugar over.
Makes 2 dozen.
