Prune Nut Braid Recipe
|Hot roll mix||13 3⁄4 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Butter/Margarine||2 Tablespoon, melted and cooled|
|Orange peel||1 Teaspoon, grated|
|Canned prune filling||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Chopped pecans||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|

Cover; let rise in warm place till doubled, about 1 hour.
On lightly floured surface, knead dough about 1 minute.
Roll dough to a 12-inch square.
Cut into 3 strips.
Spread 1/4 cup prune filling down center of each strip.
Sprinkle evenly with nuts.
Pinch dough up around filling to form 3 ropes.
Place on greased baking sheet and braid dough; pinch ends together.
Cover and let rise till almost doubled, about 40 minutes.
Bake in moderate oven (375°) about 25 minutes or till done.
Glaze while warm and decorate with red sugar and pecan halves.
