Prune Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 cup whole wheat bread cubes, toasted | ||
| 2 cup prunes, cooked, pitted and sliced | ||
| Apples | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1/2 cup prune juice | ||
| Water | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Margarine | 2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Place half of the toasted bread cubes in a well-greased 1 1/2 qt. (1 1/2 L) casserole.
Spread the prunes in a layer over the bread cubes.
Arrange the apples in a layer over the prunes, then layer the remaining bread cubes.
Combine prune juice, water, salt, cinnamon and margarine in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil; cook for 3 minutes.
Pour over prume casserole.
Cover.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 1 hour.
