Prawns Wrapped In Bacon Recipe
Ingredients
| Bacon strips (1 for each prawn) | ||
| 16 colossal prawns, 10 to 15 per pound (455 g), or 8 extra-colossal prawns, 8 to 10 per pound (455 g), shelled (except for tails) and deveined | ||
Directions
In a wide frying pan, cook bacon, a portion at a time, over medium-high heat, turning often, until some of the fat cooks out but bacon is still limp (about 3 minutes).
Drain on paper towels.
Rinse prawns and pat dry.
Wrap each with a piece of bacon.
Arrange prawns in pairs on a flat surface, with head ends hooked around one another and tails pointing in opposite directions.
On 2 parallel skewers, thread a pair of extra-colossal or 2 pairs of colossal prawns (prawns should lie flat).
Repeat for remaining prawns.
Arrange skewers on cooking grate.
Place lid on grill.
Cook, turning once halfway through cooking time, until bacon is crisp and prawns are opaque in thickest part (6 to 10 minutes; cut prawns to test).
