Prawn And Avocado Pate Recipe
The prawn and avocado pate is a cooked and processed pate made with avocados, prawns and sour cream. Cooked with milk, the prawn and avocado pate has gelatin in it and is flavored with mustard and lemon juice. Served over melba toast or crackers, the prawn and avocado pate is quite savory. Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
250 mL milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 large avocado
2 teaspoons gelatine
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon seeded mustard
200g prawns
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
Melt butter for 40 seconds on HIGH.
Add flour and cook for 1 minute on high.
Stir in milk.
Cook 3-4 minutes on HIGH -until sauce boils.
Stir in sour cream.
Blend sauce with avocado until smooth.
Dissolve gelatine in water and cook for 20 seconds on HIGH.
Fold dissolved gelatine, prawns, mustard and lemon juice into avocado mixture.
Season to taste.
Spoon into a serving dish and chill 3-4 hours.
Serve with Melba toast or savoury crackers.
