Prawn Toasts Recipe
Prawn Toasts is a mouth watering snack recipe. I am sure this tasty and irresistible Prawn Toasts will get you a lot of compliments!
Ingredients
30g pork fat, finely minced
200g peeled prawns, finely minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cornflour
1 egg white, lightly beaten white pepper
3 thin slices white bread, crusts removed
125g sesame seeds
625ml vegetable oil
Directions
In a bowl, mix together fat, prawns, salt, cornflour (cornstarch) and egg white.
Season with white pepper.
Spread on to one side of each slice of bread.
Coat with a thick layer of sesame seeds, and press well into the spread.
Cut each slice into 4 triangles.
In a wok, heat oil until smoking, reduce heat slightly, then carefully lower in the fingers, coated side down.
Deep fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent kitchen paper.
Season with white pepper.
