Prawn Balchao Recipe
The prawn balchao is a spicy prawn recipe prepared with curry leaves and chilies. Spiced and cooked together in a pan with kashmiri chilies for a red color to it, the prawn balchao can be served with rice.
Ingredients
| Shelled prawns 1/2 kg | ||
| Cumin seeds | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Peppercorns | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Kashmiri chillies 10 | ||
| Vinegar as per taste | ||
| Turmeric | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Onions | 4 | |
| Ginger | 1 Inch | |
| Garlic | 1 | |
| Green chillies | 4 | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
First, with the vinegar, grind the cumin seeds, the peppercorns and the kashmiri chillies.
Blend in the turmeric in this process.
In a pan, add oil and fry till the onions are brown.
Next, add the prawns, ground masala, curry leaves, garlic, ginger and green chillies.
Mix in the ingredients in the pan and simmer for the next 10 mins.
