Pots de Crème Recipe
Pots de crème is a chocolate dessert prepared with chocolate and cream and slow cooked over low heat. The pots de crème conatins eggs which are slowly folded in and mixed. The pots de crème are served chilled in sherbet glasses or traditional cups.
Ingredients
1 6-ounce package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate pieces
1 1/4 cups light cream
2 egg yolks
Dash salt
Directions
In heavy saucepan, combine chocolate pieces and cream.
Stir over low heat till blended and satin-smooth.
Mixture should be slightly thick but don't let it boil.
Beat egg yolks with salt till thick and light.
Gradually stir in chocolate mixture.
Spoon mixture into 6 or 7 traditional cups or into small sherbets, filling 2/3 full.
Cover and chill at least 3 hours or till mixture is like pudding.
