Potato Chutney Recipe
Ingredients
2 count big potatoes
1/2 count chopped onion
4 count green chillies
3/4 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 count finely chopped tomato
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt as needed
2 tsp lime juice
2 tbsp oil
a few corrainder leaves
To season :
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp chana dal ( kadalai paruppu )
a few curry leaves
Directions
* Peel skin of potato and cut potato into small 1 inch pieces.
* Chop onion, tomatoes and slit green chillies into 2.
* In a pan pour oil and add the seasoning and fry till light golden colour then add chopped onion and fry for 2 mins then add ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 mins in medium flame.
* Now add green chillies , chopped tomato and fry for a min then add chopped potatoes and fry for 2 mins.
* Add 2 cups of water and a pinch turmeric powder and salt. Close lid and boil in medium flame till the potatoes are cooked.
* Add 1/2 cup more water and boil till the potatoes are likely to mash. Mash them a little and cook till the chutney becomes a bit thick.
* Do all of these in medium flame. Remove and cool a little and then pour lime juice and garnish with some corrainder leaves.
* Serve with poori, any kind of dosai, or Idly too....

Can this chutney be put into jars and stored for later use?

it is a chutney, just mentioned it as soup since many people don't know what chutney is.
