Potato Cheese And Onion Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Onions | 3 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Cream | 1 Can (10oz), condensed | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pinch of dried sage | ||
| 6 medium potatoes cooked and sliced | ||
| Cheddar Cheese | 1/4 pound, sliced | |
| Pastry | ||
| Cream | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Brown onions lightly in butter; cover and cook slowly until tender.
Add soup and water; season with salt, pepper, and sage.
Arrange potatoes and half of cheese in greased 2-quart casserole.
Pour onion mixture over ingredients in casserole and top with remaining cheese.
Bake in preheated hot oven (400°F.) for 15 minutes, or until mixture is heated and cheese is lightly browned.
Top with baked pastry wedges.
Roll pastry 1/2 inch thick to form a round that fits top of casserole.
Cut into 4 wedges, and brush with cream or beaten egg yolk .
